Economic Development Task Force
The Rindge Economic Development Task Force (EDTF) held its initial meeting on July 9, 2012 to discuss its charge from the Selectmen and Planning Board to improve the quality of life for the taxpayers of Rindge by expanding the commercial/industrial tax base while continuing to cherish its historical and rural character. It evolved from a report of the Town of Rindge Economic Development Committee-Strategy & Plan, dated December 13, 2006. The task force isn't responsible to execute the six page action plan dated April 11, 2011 themselves, but rather serve as the "drum beaters' to ensure certain town organizations keep economic development alive in Rindge. The task force membership presently consists of the town administrator, planning director, one member of the planning board and select board, representatives of the conservation commission, chamber of commerce and Franklin Pierce University. In addition, there are two residents, taxpayers, business owners. The sunset date for the task force is scheduled for December 2017.
