IMPORTANT NOTICE TO RESIDENTS REGARDING TAX EXEMPTIONS


The Selectmen’s Office is required to verify at least once every 5 years that a recipient of an exemption or credit still qualifies to receive it.


Any resident who is receiving an elderly exemption from the assessed value pursuant to RSA 72:39a will be REQUIRED to provide an updated application for review which includes the following information:
List of assets, value of each asset, net encumbrance and net value of each asset. (Excluding the value of the actual residence in accordance with RSA 72:39-a(c).
Acceptable Documentation:
 Proof of birth (birth certificate or New Hampshire state-issued driver’s license or ID card) to verify age
 1099 Statement (Social Security Benefits)
 Prior year Federal Income Tax Form


 If not filing a Federal Income Tax Form, provide the following:
 Form 1099-R for Distribution of the following:
 Pensions,
 Annuities
 Profit-sharing or retirement plans
 IRAs
 Insurance contracts
 Survivor income benefit plans
 Permanent and Total disability payments under life insurance contracts
 Charitable gift annuities
 W2 Wage statements
 1099 Interest Statements
 Bank statements and verification of assets listed including investment or IRA accounts


Application packets will be mailed on or before December 31, 2023, and must be returned to the Assessor’s Office no later than April 15th, 2024, and will also be available on our website. If you do not file the updated application you MAY LOSE YOUR EXEMPTION. If you have an exemption and do not receive the packet in the mail, please call the Assessor’s Office at 603.899.5181 Ext. 113 or email assessingclerk@rindgenh.org
