UPDATE: Final Valuations for the Town of Rindge

The Town of Rindge met with the representatives of the NH Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) in Concord on Tuesday, October 28th, and then again met with a DRA representative and the Town's contracted assessing firm, Avitar Associates, at the Town Offices on Thursday, October 30th.

Avitar's revised numbers now have the average increase of residential values set at 89.7%, which is lower than their preliminary percent increase of about 97%. This figure represents a decreased valuation of more than $70 million from the preliminary assessment. The Calculating Tax Impact for 2025 post has been updated to reflect the change in the ratio of change. This calculation will not give you an exact number, but a general idea of whether your taxes will increase or decrease.

During the meeting, Avitar confirmed that they mailed out letters on Monday, October 27th, to all property owners whose value was adjusted from the 2020 assessment. They also mailed a second letter to the 250+ property owners who requested a meeting with Avitar to review their findings or request corrections. These letters should be arriving at any time; please make sure to check your mail.

Avitar's online database has been updated - follow the instructions on the Assessing page, under 2025 Revaluation Information, to view your final 2025 property card.

The Town is waiting for a response from NH DRA for the tax rate. Once the Town receives the tax rate, the process of calculating and sending out tax bills begins. We are hoping to receive the tax rate by the end of the day on Thursday, November 13th, 2025. A post will be created when tax bills are mailed out.

After Avitar finalizes the numbers, they send a USPAP report to the Board of Selectmen that outlines their process for reevaluating the Town of Rindge. It is important to note that numerous adjustments were made, and the final report is a more accurate reflection of the property values within Rindge.

Should residents of Rindge like to contest their property's value, they will have the opportunity to file for an abatement. The All About Abatements page outlines the process and when you need to file by. The form to file an abatement application is also on that page.
